Lakeside Campgrounds

Situated near Rainbow Lake, and in the midst of beautiful ponderosa pines, the Lakeside Campground is one of the oldest National Forest campgrounds in the state of Arizona. It has always been one of the most popular campsites in the area.

There are 83 family units allowing up to 8 persons per unit. Facilities include water, picnic tables, fire grills, individual parking spaces, and vault toilets. Two group areas are available; one accommodating up to 32 persons and the other up to 24 persons. Dumping station facilities are available. Camp hosts are on site.

Considerations: Presently, the Lakeside Campground is being operated under the concessionaire program. A daily fee is required. Holders of Golden Age cards may camp for half price. Advance reservations may be made under the National Forest reservation system. Call 1.800.280.CAMP for reservations.

Access: Just across the highway south of the Lakeside Ranger Station.
