History: No magazine existed on post until
1879 when, to the consternation of the Inspector General, one was built of old,
dried out logs salvaged from the original squad huts built in 1870. Unfavorable
inspection reports persisted until the present stone magazine was built in
1887.
Structural evidence indicates that this building may have later
been used as a laundry for the Theodore Roosevelt School.
