Come join our first annual Pumpkin Wars October 26 at the Spooktacular Festival. Come carve your creepiest creation and compete for great prizes! Contestants will be placed in the following categories: kids (5-12), teens (12-16), and adults (16 or older). The kid’s theme will be “Creepy Crawlers”, for teens “Teen Wolf”, and “Things That Go Bump In The Night” for adults. Competition begins at 12:00 p.m. and winners will be announced to follow. Register at parks & recreation desk at City Hall 180 N. 9th Street prior to October 18, 2013. Cost $10.00 for kids, $20.00 for teens and adults. Price includes pumpkins and carving tool kit.

Think you’ve got a green thumb? Put your skills to the test at this year’s Great Pumpkin Growing Contest. Bring your pumpkin to Festival Marketplace during the Spooktacular Festival on October 26 to enter and see if your pumpkin is the biggest & best inShow Low. Pumpkins will be measured and weighed to determine the winner. Magnificent trees from Lowe’s will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. A special thank you to Lowe’s for supporting this event. Register at parks & recreation desk at City Hall 180 N. 9th Street prior to October 18, 2013. Cost is $10.00. Contestants are responsible for transporting pumpkins “to” and “from” the event.
