Communication
In addition to the communication resources from the rest of the
state, St. Johns has a weekly local newspaper, Apache County Observer,
and bi-weekly coverage from The White Mountain Independent. Area radio
stations serve St. Johns, several television stations are received, and there
is access to cable/satellite reception
Education
There is one public elementary, one middle
and one high school, plus a private elementary school. School enrollment is
about 1,250 students. Post-secondary education is available through
Northland Pioneer
College, a nationally-accredited, state-supported community college, with
degree centers in St. Johns and Springerville/Eagar and course sites in
Sanders, Ganado, Window Rock and other communities throughout the county. NPC
offers adult basic education, continuing education, vocational, academic
transfer and personal interest programs. For information, call (800) 266-7845,

University, in cooperation with NPC, offers upper division and graduate courses
at several locations throughout the county. Contact the NAU-Northlands

Medical
St. Johns is served by several medical
professionals including physicians, three chiropractors, three dentist, and two
pharmacists. A new medical facility, featuring telemedicine capabilities, is
currently under construction. Emergency services are provided by St. Johns
Emergency Services with 11 EMTs and three IEMTs and two paramedics on call 24
hours a day. Emergency advanced life support is available.
Financial
Community First Bank serves the St. Johns area. Apache County
businesses are eligible for assistance in financing fixed assets through the
Finance Division of the Arizona Department of Commerce. Information on

Governmental
The City of St. Johns is governed by a
mayor, six council members and a city manager. It is served by a police
department, public works department, water department, wastewater department,
parks and recreation department and emergency medical services department.
Airport
The residents of St. Johns have access to
St. Johns Industrial Airpark with a
lighted 5,600-foot paved runway, six hangers, UNICOM radio, tie-down service,
general aviation and jet fuels available.
Industrial Properties
Adjoining the airport, an 80-acre industrial park has available
sites to suit commercial/industrial purposes. Existing infrastructure includes
utilities and paved streets.

Lodging & Meeting Facilities
There are two motels with 71 rooms available and several meeting
facilities with largest seating 100 persons. Also, St. Johns offers two
cultural centers seating 1,100 persons.
