Greer Community Facilities
Communication
In addition to communication resources from the rest of the
State, Greer has a bi-weekly newspaper. The White Mountain Independent,
radio stations from Show Low, Springerville and Flagstaff, and two television
channels from Tucson.
Educational
Students from Greer attend school in Springerville, 15 miles
away.
Medical
Medical facilities are available in Springerville, including one
hospital with 44 beds, 10 assisted living apartments, 10 physicians, one
optometrist, four dentists, two chiropractors and ambulance service.
Financial
There are two financial institutions in the area. Also, Apache
County businesses are eligible for assistance in financing fixed assets through
the Finance Division, Arizona Department of Commerce. Information on
availability of private activity bonds within the County may be obtained from
the same source or from the Industrial Development Authority of Apache County;

Governmental
The community of Greer is governed by the Apache County Board of
Supervisors. Deputies from the Apache County Sheriff's Office and Arizona
Department of Public Safety patrol the area. The fire department has 25
volunteers.
Airport
Residents of Greer have access to the Springerville-Eagar
Airport, (18 miles) with a 6,000-foot runway, UNICOM radio and non-directional
beacon.

There are eight lodges with 95 units, five trailer parks with 75
spaces, more than 105 cabin rentals, and 10 trailer storage spaces.
